Here is what we need to know from you to quote your next t-shirt project or to order –
- Artwork – Please send attachments of what art you have. We can then figure out which file format will work best for you. See Art Requirements below for what constitutes acceptable art. If you do not have art our in-house art department can create a design from your ideas. A sketch will help or you can peruse our galleries for an idea to apply to your design.
- Type of Shirt – such as t-shirt, polo, with or without pockets, long or short sleeve.
- Color of shirt – or mix of colors if more than one color is desired.
- Print placements & Print sizes– Front, back, sleeve, off-set torso? Just give us some good specifics. If you’re not sure, we’d be happy to make some suggestions.
- Number of colors in each print placement – 2 color front, 4 color back, 1 color sleeve? A company logo, finished art, or even a sketch, preferably in color, so that we can accurately gauge the number of colors necessary for the job. Each color for each shirt position being printed requires a separate screen, which affects your final cost. Also remember that white is a “color” on colored shirts, and most prints on color shirts require a white underbase for maximum color brightness.
- Finally, how many did you have in mind? We have price breaks, depending on the total quantity printed.
For projects other than textile decorating, we still need to know what Artwork you may have or your ideas. Then we need to know . . .
- Type of project you have in mind – such as decals, sign, window lettering, banner, vehicle to be decorated etc.
- Describe the aim of this project, what you wish that this product will do to promote your project.
- Size and Scale – what size decals, sign or banners do you envision. A storefront, what area do we have to work in? A vehicle, describe, make, model and size. An appointment can be made for someone to come out and meet with you at your storefront, or for you to bring the vehicle by for measurements.
Typically, we have an approximate 10 workday turnaround. But let us know if you need it sooner, we can usually comply. Plan ahead please, and allow adequate time whenever you can, so we can provide you with the highest quality service.
When placing an order please submit your artwork to orders@artlabfla.com with the Purchase
Order # (if applicable) in the subject line.
We require the following file types for these decorating methods:
SCREEN PRINTING & DIGITAL
VECTOR ART (Preferred Format) – Vector art is created using vector illustration software programs,
such as Adobe Illustrator or Corel Draw. These programs use mathematic equations and geometric
primitives (points, lines, and shapes) to create art that is clean, camera ready, and can be scaled
infinitely, without any loss of quality. Please submit artwork in vector format saved as an .AI, .EPS or
.PDF file. It is very important when saving a vector file to convert the text to “outlines” or “curves”
depending on the program. If a placed/imported Adobe Photoshop type image is necessary, that
original file should be included. For best results, the Photoshop file (TIF or JPG) should be at least
300 dpi resolution or higher and the art to size.
RASTER ART – Raster art or photo realistic art is art that is scanned into or created in a pixel based
program such as Adobe Photoshop. Please submit artwork in .PSD, .TIF or .JPG formats. Image
should be at least 300 dpi resolution or higher (for best results) and the art to size. Layered PSD
files are strongly preferred. (Please be aware that most images downloaded from the internet are
72 DPI at only a few inches in size. The image may look fine on your monitor but will not print well.)
Avoid sending artwork placed in programs such as Word, Excel, Powerpoint or Quark Express.
Art charges will be incurred if artwork needs to be touched up, reconstructed, color separated or
manipulated in any way.
EMBROIDERY
For already digitized files, we require DST files.
If digitizing services are required, please send in art in the acceptable file formats listed above
under Screen Printing. Please note due to thread limitations, very small details may be lost or
simplified to achieve the best end result depending on artwork submitted and final sewn out size.
Text size is limited to 1/4” high minimum for plain block fonts. Other specialty fonts may have to be
omitted from the design, even at 1/4” high minimum.
Any art submitted that does not meet the above artwork requirements will be subject to art charges billable at $65 per hour.
If you have any questions about artwork, or artwork pricing, please feel free to contact our office staff.

The sizing charts to your left are based on Gildan brand t-shirts,
as most vendors carry the largest selection of size and colors
in the Gildan line.
Other manufacturer’s sizing is similar, but may be slightly different.
This chart is meant as a guideline, so if you have any questions, please call or email for additional information.
Not all colors are available in all sizes, so be sure to call ahead to check on availability.
All specifications are based on Chest Measurements and not length.
To measure: Chest: Lift your arms and measure around your body, crossing over the fullest part of your chest.
If you are between size ranges, please choose the bigger size.
