ArtLab T-Shirts was recently commissioned to do a new Shop T-Shirt design for Southern V-Twin Motorcycles in Melbourne, Florida. Wayne Carpenter, owner of Southern V-Twin, had an idea for a vintage look design, he wanted the design to look worn and old school. Wayne also had a motorcycle he had built that he wanted to feature in the design. His Harley-Davidson Panhead Bobber bike was a perfect candidate for the concept. Step one was to photograph his Panhead Bobber. Then on to Step two, ArtLab’s full service art department converted the photo of his motorcycle into vectored line art that could be used in our design. Working with the premise of screen printing on a black t-shirt with a four color print full back and a two color print left chest, we submitted the new design. Southern V-Twin’s New Vintage Panhead t-shirt design was a big success and is selling out fast. To get yours contact Southern V-Twin Motorcycles in Melbourne, Florida.

The attached photos show Wayne’s Panhead Bobber as it is, in photographic form, then as we converted it to line art, in drawing form. The t-shirt concept design is also shown. Our direct screen printing process is depicted in another photo followed by a close up of the actual screen printed full back design. Finally, as an offshoot of this project we were able to make Wayne a printed digital portrait of his bike in photo and line art formats. We also ended up doing ¬†several hundred 2.75″ diameter outdoor quality decals of the design for motorcycle windshields.
